Chapter 7 · 7 of 9
Scoring and winning
There are two ways to score a battlefield: conquer it, or hold it.
Conquer +1
Take control this turn
Hold +1
Still yours at the start of your turn
Conquer: gain control of a battlefield you have not scored this turn. Hold: still control it at the start of your turn. Each battlefield can score once per turn.
The last point is special: you can only conquer your way to victory if you scored every battlefield that turn. Otherwise you draw a card instead.
Key points
- Conquer and Hold each score 1 point, once per battlefield per turn (CR 469-470).
- Final point rule: you must have scored every battlefield this turn to conquer for the win (CR 471.1.b).
- Burn out: if you must draw from an empty deck, your opponent gains a point (CR 431).
